If you’re looking for a new puzzle game to play on your phone, there are plenty of good ones to try in 2026. Some have you figure out where things belong on a grid, while others have you match colorful blocks or guess words. We’ve put together ten games and explained how each one works to help you find something you might enjoy.

These picks include iPhone and Android apps, plus daily puzzles you can play in your phone’s browser. The platform labels below will help you find one that works for you.

You’ll find some familiar favorites, newer games people have been talking about, and our own cat puzzle, Meow Path, at number ten.

01 Meowdoku

Meowdoku is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a challenge and enjoy cute cats at the same time. This mobile game has you figure out where each cat belongs on a colored puzzle grid. You need exactly one cat in each colored area, and no two cats can share the same row or column. They also can’t be placed next to each other, not even diagonally. It’s pretty much the Queens puzzle with a cat theme, so the best way to solve it is by working out where a cat can’t go. Once you place one correctly, you can rule out more squares and start figuring out the rest. It’s a fun little game if you like taking your time and thinking through a puzzle.

02 Block Blast!

Block Blast is a great choice if you’re looking for a puzzle that’s easy to learn but still makes you think. You place different shaped blocks on an eight-by-eight grid, and filling a whole row or column clears those blocks from the board. Sounds pretty simple, but you have to be careful about where you put each piece. Leaving little gaps can get you into trouble when a bigger block comes along and there’s nowhere to put it. The goal is to keep clearing space and build up your score before you run out of room. It’s a fun game if you enjoy planning ahead and trying to beat your last attempt.

03 Gossip Harbor

Gossip Harbor is a good choice if you like puzzles with a story to follow while you play. You combine two matching items on a board to make something new, then keep merging until you have the food or drinks your customers are asking for. Filling those orders helps you restore Quinn’s restaurant and find out more about what’s been happening around the island. The board can get crowded, so you have to think about which items to work on and where to leave room. It’s a fun option if you enjoy putting things together and having a little mystery to come back to.

04 Connections

Connections is a fun choice if you like word games and enjoy figuring out what things have in common. You’re given sixteen words and have to sort them into four groups of four. Each group has a connection, which might be a type of food, a common expression, or another meaning of a word. It sounds easy enough until you notice that some words seem to fit in more than one group. That’s where you have to slow down and look at all of your options before choosing. Sometimes the answer is right in front of you, but you’re thinking about the word the wrong way. It’s a good puzzle to play with a friend and compare answers afterward.

05 Royal Match

Royal Match is a good choice if you enjoy matching games and like having something to work toward as you finish levels. You swap colored pieces around the board to make matches of three or more, clearing the targets before you run out of moves. Completing a level earns you stars that you can use to fix up King Robert’s castle. The basic idea is pretty easy to get, but you still need to think about which matches will help you finish the board. Making a power-up at the right time can help clear pieces that are difficult to reach. If you like working through puzzles and watching a bigger project come together, there’s plenty here to keep you busy.

06 Pixel Flow!

Pixel Flow is worth trying if you like colorful puzzles where the order of your moves really matters. You send little pigs around a conveyor belt, and each pig shoots cubes that match its own color. The number above its head tells you how many shots it has left. If it finishes going around without using them all, it goes into a waiting space until you send it out again. You only have five of those spaces, so sending out the wrong colors can leave things pretty crowded. The goal is to clear all the cubes while keeping enough room to carry on. It’s a fun one if you enjoy watching a board clear away and figuring out what needs to happen next.

07 Queens

Queens is a great puzzle if you enjoy using process of elimination to work out an answer. You place queens on a colored grid, with exactly one queen in every row, column, and colored area. No two queens can be next to each other, including diagonally. You don’t need to know how to play chess to understand it. Just look for squares where a queen can’t go and cross them off until you find a place that works. Each queen you place helps narrow down the choices for the others. If you like the rules in Meowdoku and want a new puzzle to solve each day, this is another good one to try on LinkedIn.

08 Arrows – Puzzle Escape

Arrows – Puzzle Escape is a good choice if you like puzzles that have you untangle a busy board. You start with a bunch of arrows and have to remove every one without letting them run into each other. Before you tap an arrow, you need to check whether anything is blocking its way out. Removing one can open up space for another, so figuring out the right order is a big part of the game. The board can look pretty confusing at first, but it gets easier to follow as you clear pieces away. There’s no timer, which gives you time to look things over and think about your next move. It’s a nice option if you enjoy solving a puzzle at your own pace.

09 Wordle

Wordle is a great choice if you enjoy word puzzles but only want one to work on each day. You get six tries to guess a five-letter word, and the game gives you clues after every guess. A green letter is in the right place, while a yellow letter is in the word but needs to go somewhere else. Gray tiles help you narrow down the remaining possibilities. You use those clues to figure out what your next guess should be, and sometimes it helps to try a word just to check a few new letters. The rules are pretty simple, but getting the answer in only a few guesses can take some thought. It’s also fun to compare your results with friends without giving the word away.

10 Meow Path

Meow Path is our own game, so we’re a little biased, but we think you’ll enjoy it if you like figuring out paths and collecting cute cats. You help a cat roll a ball of yarn through a grid to reach its food bowl. The trick is that you have to connect the numbered checkpoints in order and fill every square without crossing your path. Taking a wrong turn can leave you stuck with an empty square you can’t reach, so it helps to look ahead before moving. There are 2,000 puzzles to work through, along with daily challenges and cats to unlock as you play. It’s a fun choice if you enjoy taking your time with a puzzle and want a few cute cats to keep you company.
